Environmental Educator Training Program

If you love nature and enjoy working with children, I invite you to consider joining our team of environmental educators. The training takes only a few sessions, and the scheduling of field trips, Scout programs, and classes allows for flexibility. But the true benefit is the joy in helping children discover the world around them–a new passion, piqued curiosity, STEM enrichment, and accountability to our environment.

Watch the children’s faces when they spot a doe hiding in the thrush and connect this with the concept of camouflage. See them reach out their hand to hold a worm in fascination. Share their delight at identifying a red-tailed hawk and describing its characteristics. Or hear their exclamations as they tell their friend, “Isn’t science great?”

Our 4-session training program offers:
• Workshops in nature studies and teaching techniques
• Observations with our experienced naturalists
• Learning amazing facts about plants and animals
• Sharing your new knowledge with elementary-school children

What’s more, you’ll benefit from the company and enrichment of working side-by-side with other naturalists. We’re a very collegial group!

Dates: Tuesdays in March: 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, and 3/28
