Earth Day Spring Birding with Doug Bloom

April is peak time for birding! Many birds are house-hunting at Sheldrake and settling down to raise a family. There’s lots of chatter and fluttering about. With trees still largely bare, it’s easier to see this activity. Join us to learn about the birds at Sheldrake, as we celebrate Earth Day with an eye on the importance of protecting habitats. See which birds you can identify by sight and sound, with expert birder Doug Bloom as our guide. Binoculars are helpful but not required.

Doug is a former president of the Bronx River Sound Shore Audubon Society and its current vice president. He is a lifelong birder, the current birding field trip leader at the Audubon Society, and all-around nature and birding enthusiast.
