Now that spring is in full swing, we are thrilled to restart our meadow restoration and are looking for volunteers. Volunteers will be supervised during the process of invasive plant removal, planting of native plants and flowers, and establishing our meadow path. The finished project will not only offer aesthetic value but also an improved habitat for Sheldrake’s pollinators and other critters.
The meadow-restoration project will take place on multiple dates throughout May. We would love to have helpers join us for multiple shifts, but we would also happily accommodate volunteers who can help a single time. Please use the registration link below to sign up. Scheduled dates/times are on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, as follows:
Tuesdays and Wednesdays – 4:00-6:00 pm:
May 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24
Saturdays – 3:00-5:00 pm:
May 6, 13, 20
Please wear long pants, long sleeves, closed-toed shoes, and a hat, if desired. Depending on the weather, you may wish to apply sunscreen and/or bug spray before you arrive. Bring gardening gloves, if you have them, and a water bottle. Meet at the meadow, which is near the bench overlooking the pond.
This is a great way to earn community-service hours while helping to improve the habitat at Sheldrake! Suitable for ages 16 and up, but those under age 18 must have an adult register them to complete the waiver.
FREE, but please advance registration is required. *Drop-in volunteers cannot be accommodated.*
Registration may close a day or two before each event (or sooner if space is no longer available), so register today!
