Discover the amazing adaptations that enable pond plants and animals to survive in their habitat. Using handheld magnifiers, nets, and our pond-life visual aids, we’ll explore life in our own Goodliffe Pond. Families will rotate among multiple stations, learning about life cycles, food chains and webs, and the ways that various pond creatures move, eat, and breathe. Refreshments will be offered. Quality family ponding time!

Date: Monday, October 13 (Columbus Day)

Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm (allow ~45 minutes to participate, arriving/departing at any time in that window; participants are welcome to linger)

Ages: 4 through adult (the program will be tailored by age)

Format: This is not a drop-off program; children must be accompanied by an actively participating adult. The event takes place outdoors (with the possibility of indoors).

Cost per Family (up to 5 people): Members: $15; non-members: $20

Cancellation Policy: Program proceeds in inclement weather unless hazardous conditions occur. In the event that Sheldrake should cancel a program (or a portion thereof), either a makeup will be scheduled or a refund will be issued. Participant cancellation requires a minimum of one week’s notice (in writing to scheduling@sheldrakecenter.org; be sure to obtain written confirmation of receipt), and a 25% cancellation fee will be charged. No refunds will be issued under other circumstances.

A note about enrollment: Some Sheldrake programs sell out, while others might under-enroll. We encourage you to invite a friend(s) to help us meet our minimum.
