Sheldrake’s nature programming wouldn’t be possible without our talented and passionate team of skilled naturalists. We’re always looking for more! Starting in September, our new training program for prospective naturalists kicks off. Care to join? If you’re interested in sharing your love of nature with children, we’d love to hear from you. While our programming caters to people of all ages, our training program is primarily focused on the education of elementary-school-aged children.
Our 4-session training program offers:
• Classroom learning, reading, and field observations
• Ecology study of our three sites (Larchmont Reservoir, Sheldrake River Trails, and Dog Beach)
• Teaching methods for various ages
• Practice sessions in real-world settings
In addition to fortifying your own knowledge and preparedness, you’ll benefit from the company and enrichment of working side-by-side with other Sheldrake naturalists. We’re a very collegial group! Future opportunities for engagement and continuing education will be shared with training participants.
