Fall 2008 Nature Classes for Children
Pre-registration required for all programs
Mommy & Me Nature Class
Tuesdays, September 16 to November 18 (no classes 9/30, 11/11)
Thursdays, September 18 to November 13 (no class 10/9)
10:30-11:30am or 1:00-2:00pm
$104 members/$120 non-members
Young children learn about the wonders of nature with an adult accompanying each child. Bea Weinberger’s classes include a story to introduce a theme, a craft and a nature walk. Classes meet in the yellow potting shed at 687 Weaver Street in Larchmont. 8 sessions. Ages 3 to 5.
Pre-K Nature Class Drop-Off Program
Mondays, September 15 to December 1 (no class 10/13)
Wednesdays, September 17 to December 3 (no classes 10/1, 11/26)
12:45-2:45pm
Mondays $286 members/$330 non-members, all other days $260 members/$300 non-members
Add fun discoveries to your child’s day with a hands-on exploration of the natural world with Cindy Polera. Arts & crafts, walks, experiments, stories and games are designed to bring out the natural curiosity in your pre-schooler. This program will be held in the Sheldrake main building in the downstairs classroom. Snack provided. 11 sessions on Mondays, 10 sessions on other days. Ages 4 to 5.
After-school Nature Club
Tuesdays, September 16 to December 2 (no classes 9/30, 11/11)
12:45-2:45pm for kindergarteners; 3:15-5:15pm for 3rd & 4th graders
Wednesdays, September 17 to December 3 (no class 10/1, 11/26)
3:15-5:15pm for kindergarteners
Thursdays, September 18 to December 4 (no class 10/9, 11/27)
12:45-2:45pm for kindergarteners; 3:15-5:15pm for 1st & 2nd graders
$260 members/$300 non-members
An introduction to the wonders of Sheldrake through experiments, hikes, art, “eco-dramas,” live creatures and other exciting environmental activities with Cindy Polera. This program will be held in the Sheldrake main building in the downstairs classroom. Snack provided. 10 sessions.
Vacation Clubs
Columbus Day, Monday, October 13
Veteran’s Day, Tuesday, November 11
10am-12pm ages 4 to 6; 1-3pm 2nd to 4th graders
Cost: $26 members, $30 non-members per holiday
Give the children something to look forward on their days off! Register them now for our vacation clubs with Cindy Polera which will titillate them with the wonders of our natural world.
